Meet Dr. Andrea Zengion

My PhilosophyI am passionate about the medicine of transformation. Taking care of our health offers us opportunities to grow and change. My goal is to be my patients’ companion and guide as they seek to transform their lives, whether that be through overcoming pain, preparing for a birth, gender transitioning, addressing chronic digestive problems, or by simply working to become more well. About My PracticeAs a naturopathic doctor and acupuncturist, I integrate eastern and western medical traditions to understand your health and to best address both symptoms and the root cause of disease. Naturopathic medicine and traditional Chinese medicine complement and illuminate each other extremely well. In my visits, I use both of these systems in concert with western medical diagnosis with the goal of addressing the cause of your health issues by using gentle, natural therapies. Some techniques I use include: - Acupuncture
- Herbal medicine
- Clinical nutrition
- Physical medicine
- Detoxification
- Body work, craniosacral therapy and reflexology
Just as your life is a journey, so is the process of finding balance and health. I will work with you to create a plan that fits your life and will take the time to do the detective work necessary to understand both your symptoms and your overall health picture. I enjoy collaborating with other providers and am happy to be a member of your health care team. I practice general family medicine and particularly enjoy working with pain and injury complaints, digestive health, endocrinology, detoxification and environmental health, women’s health throughout life (girlhood through menopause and beyond!), reproductive issues for men and women and lesbian/gay/bisexual/transgender health issues. My BackgroundPrior to joining San Francisco Natural Medicine as their first resident, I ran a private practice in Campbell, California, where I focused on gynecology, reproductive health and pregnancy support. I have also worked as a doula (labor and birth companion) and edited naturopathic textbooks. I am originally from eastern Pennsylvania and have lived in the western United States for the last 10 years.
